"While at Arrow the other night I decided to have a look
around the church, which I found most interesting. You enter through a lych
gate, over which is carved 'Believe in the Resurrection'. On the inside door of
the tower are carved the words 'Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus'. There are some
beautiful stained glass windows and also a number of memorials to the Seymour
family most of whom seem to be interred there. This is a hamlet rather than a village, near the river of the same name. The parish church of Holy Trinity is six hundred years old but was much altered in Victorian times. Ragley Hall, the home of the Seymour family, must have dominated this parish. Ragley is now the home of the Marquess of Hertford whose family have been in possession for nearly three hundred years, and is one of the most outstanding stately homes in the Midlands. It is open to the public. There is a four hundred acre park laid out by Capability Brown in 1750. Arrow is just a few miles from Alcester. Oversley and Thornhill are in the parish.
To find Arrow Church, proceed from Alcester towards Evesham, and take the second exit at the A46 bypass roundabout. Just beyond the right turn to Worcester look out for a track to the left beyond the village hall, over a cattle grid. Go down this track and park at the bottom of the field. The church is a short walk towards the left.
